Coco Amardeil first studied psychology in Montreal before turning to photography, a passion which was born during a trip to Italy. She practiced within the fashion industry before signing her own work in 1998. Her creative, colorful and joyful universe led her to work with Vogue Bambini, Elle, Madame Figaro, Le Bon Marché, L’Oréal, and Veuve Clicquot.
Come Hell or High Water was Coco Amardeil’s first major project, for which she won a Bourse du Talent prize in 2017. To her, these teenage faces emerging from the sea show that “the youth of today live in a time where uncertainty about the future [...] has reached epic proportions. [...] It is this moment in life, a time of soul-searching and self-discovery, that I wanted to capture through this series of portraits.”
