Ukrainian Theater Director Mires Peniushkevych: “I get a lot of hate for putting on plays about war during the war”

By the age of 22, Mires Peniushkevych has already staged more than 15 theatre productions in Ukrainian cities where theatres still operate. None of them is about escaping into parallel realities or simply entertaining audiences. They speak of about crimes against humanity – war, Nazism, the Holocaust, and brutal repression. Not everyone is happy about that.
